Summer is officially here! It’s time to gear up and enjoy Washington’s pristine waters for some Salmon Fishing. Puget Sound Sports Fishing is your local guide for a memorable fishing adventure. Salmon fishing season officially started on June 16, 2021. We are now taking reservations for private morning or afternoon charters. Captain Murphy Pearson has provided this year’s guide to Salmon Fishing in Seattle, Edmonds, and surrounding areas.

Types Of Salmon

There are typically 6 types of salmon. Chinook, also known as King Salmon is a popular type that can be found in the Puget Sound waters. King Salmon is also the tastier and flavorful out of the bunch.

Coho, also know as Silver Salmon is another popular type that roams these waters. Coho salmon is slightly smaller with more orange-red flesh. They are very popular in the culinary community and have more of a familiar salmon flavor.

Both Coho and King Salmon fishing is now open for booking.

Salmon Fishing Bait & Lure

There many different bait and lure you can use to fish for salmon. Here are some of our favorites:

  1. Gold Star Yamashita Squid-

Also known as ‘Golden Bate’ squids, this bait is made of very premium materials and has a narrow slim design ideal for salmon fishing.

2. Silver Horde Ace Hi Fly-

This lure features a double glow and can reflect UV lights. This is ideal for salmon fishing as it gives the lure a very vibrant and active movement.

3. Silver Horde #4 Kingfisher Lite Fishing Spoon

This bait is very lightweight and can attract a salmon fish due to it’s irresistible wobble.
